“Overcoming Pandemics” is an open-source repository of best practices that have been used and proved by governments, private organizations, knowledge centers and civil society to face problems associated with new pandemics like COVID-19.
Because not all countries nor organizations have responded similarly, having a single place to review and copy good open-sourced ideas makes a huge difference for faster and better adaptation, thus protecting human lives, the environment and local economies in the global scale.
This repository starts from the belief that the three main reasons societies are not prepared to encounter pandemics are:
- Lack of know-how on counter measures;
- Not realizing that there is already available tested knowledge to imitate instead of creating from scratch;
- Lack of knowing that there are available funds to get these best practices done.
Thus, to overcome these obstacles you will find in this single site an inventory of tested open-sourced initiatives with an interactive space to self-coordinate, share insights and as well, a fundraising tool soon to come.
